How do you frame a rugby jersey safely?

Every jersey is reversibly mounted — no glue, no pins through the fabric. We use archival-grade backing boards and acid-free supports so the garment can be removed unchanged years later. UV-protective glass keeps colours fade-free.

Do you ship across New Zealand?

Yes. We frame in our Auckland workshop and dispatch nationwide with a tracked, insured courier partner that specialises in artwork. North Island delivery is typically 2–3 working days, South Island 3–5.

How long does custom framing take?

Accepted Answer

Most jersey and memorabilia frames are completed within 2–3 weeks of design sign-off. Larger or multi-piece commissions (honors boards, group signed jerseys) can take 4–6 weeks. Rush options are available — just ask.

Do you offer bulk framing for sports clubs?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Clubs, schools and corporate sponsors are a big part of what we do — from honors boards and signed team jerseys to retirement gifts. We'll quote per-piece pricing with bulk discounts based on volume.

Question 5

Can I drop my item off in person?

Accepted Answer

Yes absolutely! Our retail store and framing workshop is located in Ellerslie, just off the motorway at the Ellerslie Penrose interchange. Working out framing designs together in person is the best way to kick off your project, if you're Auckland-based or able to visit us in-store. Heaps of dedicated parking right in front of our door.

What materials and glass do you use?

We use acid-free backing with solid timber and aluminium mouldings. Standard Glass is included, with UV glass and Artglass anti-reflective UV glass available as upgrades. UV glass helps preserve colours and signatures, while Artglass also greatly reduces reflections for clearer viewing.

The prices you see on our website cover the entire framing job for your jersey or garment — giving you a perfectly mounted and finished sports frame beautifully displaying your prized item, absolutely 100% complete and ready to hang immediately. Hanging system included too.

I've got a signed jersey, what's your best advice to preserve the signatures?

Accepted Answer

Those "permanent markers" we all use for getting athlete's signatures? They are not permanent! First they fade to deep blue, then mid blue, then change to a kind of purple, then eventually fade away to be illegible. The silver pen signatures also just fade away as well, getting fainter and fainter each year. Fading from UV is a gradual process and often the frame owner won't even notice, until someone else points it out to them after a year or two. If your signatures are rare, valuable, or important, please please please consider going with a UV glass option. Yes it costs more but the UV glazing choices are the only options that will preserve signatures for the lifetime of your jersey.

Do you dry-clean the jersey before framing?

Accepted Answer

No, we don't do any cleaning tasks on sports garments — there's too much risk of damage, or perhaps losing a precious player signature on an item. We often frame jerseys that still have grass stains, mud, and occasionally even blood on them. If you're worried about marks on your jersey, wash it or have it dry-cleaned prior to getting it to us.

Can I swap my jersey out of the frame for something different in future?

Yes. We do these swap-out projects occasionally. The main thing to check at the beginning is that your new item is a suitable size for your existing frame. If you have a project like this, drop us an email with some pics, and we'll come back to you with some options and pricing.

Can I add photos into my frame design?

Accepted Answer

Yes absolutely! Adding your photos into a frame design is our second most popular feature, plaques being the number one extra feature. We do all our own printing in-house on our Canon fine art printer. All we need from you is the image file(s) you want to include in the frame design. Action shots always bring life and a great energy into any frame design, but you can include absolutely any image you like.

Is there a word-limit on the plaque?

Accepted Answer

There is no limit to the amount of wording you can have on your plaque, although we do encourage a "less is more" when it comes to plaque wording. We can also include coloured logos on the plaque — for your club crest, a corporate sponsor, business name, or whatever. Our plaques are all custom made and custom sized too, depending on the wording and content. We like to aim for a font size that is legible from a few meters away, so people in the room can read it easily without having to go up close.

Can I have more than one plaque in my frame?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The most common example of doing this is when there is one "main" plaque below the jersey (like the team name, event, date, result, etc), then a squad list split into two additional plaques, one each side of the jersey. But there are no limits — if you can describe it, we can create it.

Do you do sports frame repairs?

Accepted Answer

Yes we do! If you have a frame in need of some attention, the best way forward is to start with an email to us with some pics of the problems or damage, and include an approximate frame size, and we can come back to you with ideas, options, and price guides.

Can I have more than one jersey in my frame design?

Accepted Answer

Yes this is absolutely possible — we create these from time to time, particularly for professional athlete clients. Multi-jersey projects are super-custom, so please drop us an email with as much info and frame description as you can about the frame you'd like to create. We'll come back to you with options, probably some questions, and some pricing.
